Leap Years Are Holidays, Right?

Part 2 of the lacy legs bodystocking video is on its way and it's entirely possible that putting together that video for my members will be my biggest accomplishment for the day. Good thing these leap year days don't really count, eh?

I started working on a new quilt this week, one to keep for myself to bundle up with in front of the fireplace on chilly nights. I like to wrap my feet up when I'm watching a movie and this house is seriously lacking in blankets. I made 3 quilts last year, but they were all gifts. I'm excited to finish this one and have been trying to do a bit each night. The only problem? Sewing is really fucking boring.

It takes every ounce of willpower I've got not to hop up and down out of my seat. I do this all day while I'm working - up to get a drink, up to get something snacky (preferably something small that I can eat one morsel at a time like popcorn, corn nuts, Hershey's Kisses), up to see what the dogs are doing, up to go pee. I should attach a pedometer to myself one day to see how many steps around the house I take in any given work day. No wonder I don't feel like going to the gym!

Fortunately, working from home and doing webmaster work in general seem to fit well with my limited attention span. If I'm batching a photo gallery, I'd be just sitting and waiting for it to finish anyway, so hopping up? No big deal. Big projects where I'm trying to figure out how to code something properly usually aren't a problem either; I seem to be able to hyper-focus on one task when it's something all-consuming like that.

I do worry about what would happen if I had to work in an office again. I don't think I could handle cubicle life. Or maybe the walk back and forth to the water cooler or the coffee pot wouldn't stand out at all...unless I was wearing a really short skirt, of course.

  • you are amazingly complicated person aren't you? in a good way. it just seems odd that someone with a large web presence such as yourself makes quilts. i think, if i didn't do the whole twitter thing and actually read your blog, that i would expect more of a "rock star" lifestyle...and yet your just like me, well except for the quilts...and the boobs, but hey who's counting. rock on sister and any office would be lucky to have you.

  • Thanks for stopping by, Joe. I wish I had more of a rock star lifestyle myself. Without all of the talking to people stuff. Or wearing uncomfortable shoes. Or needing to know who the new hip band is while downplaying my love of (gasp!) mainstream "brand name" bands.

Other than that, rock on! Dude.
