Twittering My Days Away

Kris Madison on TwitterI've been getting into the habit of Twittering throughout the day rather than writing blog posts, which I realize is probably not the preferred way for folks to stay in touch with me. I'm not a fan of blog posts that rattle off laundry lists of activities, so Twitter minds that gap perfectly. Since you're only allowed 140 characters, it's entirely acceptable to write about my morning coffee without expanding it into a thoughtful blog entry full of inspiring links to great coffee drinking scenes throughout history. This kind of thing is just fine for Twitter:

Woke up too early. Need coffee. *yawn*

Of course, that's exactly why I ignored Twitter for months before finally signing up (which is free, btw. You can sign up here). Why would anyone WANT to read that kind of crap? Well...I'm still not sure why, but I can tell you that for me? It's become strangely addicting and comforting.

I like knowing the minutia of my friends' days. (Yes, that includes internet friends that would put me more in the "stalker" category than the "friend" category.) I like knowing that, for example, Lexi Lapetina, the super hot web model, spent the day shopping with her mom.

Why hasn't Trixie Tweeted yet? Is she still sleeping? Nope, there she is. She was pooping.

These are the things I like knowing about my fellow netizens. And when Twitter goes down? Like right now? Well, I guess I have to blog about it.
