Safe and Sound

I was so excited to see snow on the weekend and had a great time snapping pics of the dogs playing as the fluffy flakes piled up. Then they got really wet and slushy and heavy, the kind of snow that breaks tree branches and slides down the back of your coat collar, freezing your back. And then it rained.

All the snow has been washed away now. I guess that's what happens out here. Apparently the rain has been taking lots of other stuff, like roads, with it too.

Fortunately, I'm safe and sound. And dry. My sister is home from Mexico and her house is also dry, but my nephew is apparently quite sick so I'm stuck with her dogs for a few more days. That's my biggest frustration. Four dogs who don't get along in a house with 2 more dogs who *really* don't get along and no yard. We do have a mud puddle of a yard, but no fence, so I can't let my sister's dogs outside without trouble. By trouble, I mean the old white blind dog attacking anything that appears on his radar.

Wonder if I could stick 'em on a life raft with GPS coordinates and float them home...
