A New Year

My new year's even plans for this year were pretty low key, but perfect for me considering my crazy xmas. I was planning to have a safe, cozy evening at my place, playing drunken Wii with good friends, plus a few other non-committal people who said they'd drop in before/after their other party plans. A NYE open house - love it!

My plans fell apart today when I found out the couple who were supposed to be joining me in hosting the drunken Wii action broke up. Last night. Which means I could've stayed at Trixie's and gone to see Lars and the Real Girl! Dammit.

So instead of cozy fun with two of my favorite people, I'm set for depressing awkwardness with one half of the couple, plus super duper awkwardness with anyone else who drops by tonight. I'm really tempted to just call the whole thing off and go see a movie instead. Or clean my house. Or work on redesigning my site. Or just curl up by the fire with a notebook and make dream big about what 2008 will bring.
