Halloween Costuming: Sexy Mustard!

With a chill in the air and Halloween only 5 sleeps away, my weekend plans are shaping up to have festive fun as the top priority. First up - find a costume.

I've been invited to shake it up at a club in Vancouver and since I was just complaining about my lack of Halloween plans, I couldn't very well say no. I would just pull out my Little Red Riding Hood costume from last year, but apparently my girlfriend is going as Red. Back to the tickle trunk for me! Or even better, the Girl's Costume Warehouse:

It's a toss up between the Sexy Mustard or Frog. While I'm deciding, why not bake more cookies? Even better, why not get paid to bake more cookies?

In what's shaping up to be a month of firsts, I've been commissioned by my landlord to bake cookies for him. That's right! I'm actually getting paid to bake. Who woulda thunk my first foray into cookie baking (brought on by my need to cut grocery costs, I might add) would pay off?!

The only other baking I usually do is making shortbread cookies for Christmas. I was happy with the way my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies turned out, but never expected that I'd be selling them by the dozen a couple of weeks later. Crazy!

Halloween pumpkin carving

While the house is warm, smelling of sugar and cinnamon, I'm going to try my hand at pumpkin carving and see if I can tackle one of these new fandangled patterns that all the kids are cutting up these days. My previous pumpkin carving experiences consist of the traditional Jack O' Lantern faces, so I'm excited to try something a little more complicated. Will document process and post my success or failure, of course.
