Even Criminal Masterminds Cannot Resist the Lure of the Webcam

The Vancouver office building Workspace was broken into a couple of weeks ago and the thieves made off with some computer equipment - specifically four laptops and two iMacs. Bill MacEwan has posted some images and a video of the thieves recorded by the security camera on his blog.


Small, grainy security camera images aren't particularly helpful to police when trying to recover stolen property, but how about a full face shot or one detailing unique characteristics, such as a tattoo?



How about when the thief uploads the pictures himself to your company Flickr stream because his vanity has gotten the best of him and he's taking pictures of himself on his hot computer using Photobooth?

That just makes for a good story. =)
