I Heart Room Service
After No Tell Motel-ing it for a couple of nights on my long journey to Seattle, I splurged on a swanky hotel last night. I'm in heaven! Soft feather pillows, a cozy bathrobe to slip into after a long soak in my sparkling white tub & the coup de grace - room service.
I rarely allow myself to waste money on stuff like room service, so this morning's cereal & pastry basket was a special treat. The prices are so much higher than just walking down to the lobby restaurant. Most trips you'll find me avoiding the lobby restaurants too & hitting the grocery store instead. Take everything out of the minibar - don't open that! Are you crazy??? Then replace the minibar snacks with grocery store fare not wrapped in spun gold cellophane hand-packaged on the laps of virgins. I had this argument with my brother in law last summer when I audibly gasped as his son cracked open a can of Coke from the minibar. Yes, I do sound exactly like my mother. She taught me well. =)
Today my craving for normal routine won out & I willingly paid the convenience fee to enjoy eating cereal while reading blogs. Ahhhhhhh. Just like home! Even better because I don't have to do the dishes *and* I got a purdy flower on my tray. Best $17 I've spent this week!
In case you were wondering, no, I won't be ordering room service tomorrow. You crazy? *grin*
