I have a ton of topics I'd like to write about, like the lively boob flashing intermission at the Motley Crue concert or my first nude shoot with a new photographer down in a somewhat secluded ravine area. But I'm trying to use blogging as a reward for the hard work I've been procrastinating on completing. My loft shooting area is still a disaster, I haven't finished any of the web projects I've overdue on & my house still looks like I just moved in a few days ago rather than a few months ago. So far the writing as reward idea hasn't proved to be much of a motivator. A week later I still have very little accomplished, but I haven't written either. Lose-lose situation.
Before I fire myself, I think I'll try upping the ante to no blog *reading* until I've completed as solid 8 hours of work. I have a few daily reads that have been part of my daily ritual for years now & with more bloggers jumping on-line all the time, my list of interesting reading is constantly growing. Since this is a sort of "crunch time" for me professionally, I think I'll try sticking out the 8 hour rule for the next week. Then I'll move on to short blog breaks once I'm back in my work groove. Maybe an egg timer? It's so easy to click from link to link without looking up until you realize you're hungry & it's almost dinner time. Doh! The Not Safe For Work tag on some images always makes me laugh. Are any blogs really appropriate work reading material? I haven't been in the corporate world for years now, but I don't remember any reading material being kosher unless it had to do with annual reports, company policies or internal memos. Not that anyone listened, of course. I can't remember the URL now, but one of the more popular sites to visit while "working" was a site that broadcast every TV station. It was great! And promptly shut down when the CRTC got wind of it.
Uh oh...my boss says it's time to get back to work. She's such a bitch!
